Saint Paul’s
Wailing Wall
This area is inspired by the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. There, for generations people have prayed. Indeed to this day, little pieces of paper with petitions and prayers are rolled up and inserted into the broken mortar.
Our “Wailing Wall” serves the same purpose. You might tack your needs and prayers so that those who see them may be moved to prayer; or you might take a petition off the wall and keep it for a week and pray for the unknown petitioner. Then you might initial it and put it back so that the author of the petition will know that they are not alone; that someone gives them their prayer, support and sympathy.
Feel free to tack your needs and look over others’ needs. Most of all, stand there in reverence and quiet prayer.
Our “Wailing Wall” is in the back of the church by the Seventh Station.
